The fee for obtaining a marriage license is $27.50. A certified copy of a marriage license is $10.00 (La. R.S. 13:841). If a waiver is required, there will be an additional fee of $4.00 per waiver. Cash, debit or credit card, money order, personal checks, or certified or cashiers checks are accepted forms of payment. By Louisiana law, the clerk of court transfers $12.50 for each marriage license to the State of Louisiana for programs for the victims of family violence.
Newlyweds should order a certified copy of their marriage license two weeks after the marriage to insure that the license has been returned and recorded.

JeffNet offers a day rate for users who do not require the full monthly subscription. The day rate is $5.00 for a 24 hour access block. Day accounts have full access to all online records and image viewing. Clerk of Court documents can be purchased and downloaded as PDF documents for $.75 per page. Certified copies also are available. The cost for those is $.75 per page plus $5.00 certification cost. The JeffNet 24-Hour account does not provide access to e-filing or e-recording services. The clerk of court’s marriage licenses indices may be accessed via the Louisiana Clerks’ Remote Access Authority (LCRAA), which was established in 2014 as a bold initiative of the La. Clerks of Court Assn. to provide the public with access to all La. clerks of court indices. The system is free and open to the public and currently includes mortgage and conveyance (recording) and marriage license data. Users are directed to individual clerks’ web sites for premium access to images. The system is helpful to users who wish to search records in multiple parishes without the need to visit individual courthouses or web sites (until an image, or copy thereof, is desired).
